A Few Feathered Friends…

Published by YSRN at 11:32 pm

Since I expanded my bird feeders and figured out what types of seed they each like, I’m getting much more variety of bird visitors. I set all the feeders and patio trees for maximum window viewage from my office. These are all taken through the glass. While I’m, you know, “working”. ;)

I don’t know what this little yellow fella is. He sure is cute tho.

I spend a lot of time out IN the yard these days. So more pictures, fewer words in the blog. That’s probably a good thing. ;) I think this is a female tufted titmouse.

I get a lot of grosbeaks now. Never saw them before this year. In fact before this year, all I ever saw were blue jays and pigeons. They’re still here, but they all seem to take turns. So far, so good.

The doves eat on the ground with the quail. They share the same food interests and eat together. I haven’t seen any quail in a couple of weeks though; I think they are off having their babies. Soon, little quail families will be running about the yard. The best part of autumn for me!

I am in love with the woodpeckers. I have three feeders that they could perch on perfectly well, but they still choose to come close to the house. I’m not sure why, but I’m happy to see them just the same.

I’ve been trying to capture an inflight hummingbird. I have a few shots that are pretty good. But not what I want yet. They are much easier to catch when they perch. I’m surprised how long they stay. They seem to really like this abutilon so I leave it right next to the window.

Cutest little chickadee ever.

And then there’s this sneaky little devil.

A Thousand Different Ways…

Published by YSRN at 2:25 pm

Ooooh! A Thousand Different Ways, Clay’s third CD, has moved up to the #1 spot in music sales on Amazon.com in just one day.

The interesting thing about my adoration of Clay Aiken is that his apparent musical choices generally differ from mine, but his voice transcends that and I find myself drawn to his music anyway. It’s visceral. Boy can sang! I wish him so much success with this CD! I think he’ll have it. In astronomical proportions! You go, Clay!
