Kelly Ripa - Making a Mountain out of a Molehill
What Clay Aiken had to say about Kelly after their co-hosting experience together:
What Kelly Ripa had to say about Clay:
First off, someone needs to apologize to Emmitt and Cheryl for the mini-squabble that interrupted their interview. They were the WINNERS of DWTS, but because Kelly had the lust on for Mario, they were treated with little respect during their interview/guest segment.
As for Friday’s show, Clay read the room, laughed at jokes made at his expense, bantered in typical sarcastic Kelly fashion, was very entertaining, made a faux pas during the Smith/Burke interview by jokingly putting his hand over her chatty mouth, corrected himself, apologized, and everyone moved on. Everyone except for Kelly I guess. Contrary to in-studio fan video from the show that clearly shows Kelly off-camera being thankful and friendly towards Clay.
Kelly said that Clay was disprespectful the whole show. And that he never once thanked her. I guess she missed these on-air comments:
“Thank you it’s good to be here.”
“I’m thrilled, I’m thrilled to be here not only to be with you but because it’s a great show.”
I have no issue with Kelly being miffed about the hand over mouth incident. It’s her mouth and she has every right to choose what goes over it. What I have issue with is that she is painting their entire co-hosting experience and Clay himself as disrespectful. That she is acting as though her own disrespect is warranted and OK. That she is unprofessional enough to take a moment out of context, one in which Clay had no intention of disrespect, and blow the whole thing out of proportion. That she takes a mistake and catapults it into something worthy of OUTRAGE. Her perspective is a bit off, to say the least.
If you missed Friday’s show, visit The ConCLAYve: Kelly Ripa gets upstaged…and sucks her thumb for video and additional commentary.

While Kelly Ripa was off in the Hamptons over the weekend getting an etiquette lesson from that bastion of good manners himself, Howard Stern, UNICEF Ambassador Clay Aiken was in Manhattan lighting the UNICEF snowflake and bringing attention to children in need around the world.
