Hey, where’d the summer go!?!
I cannot believe the last time I blogged was July 4th! Miss me? Hee.
Seriously, where does the time go? Why does it seem to go faster and faster each year? While I adore Autumn, I am never too eager to move on from summer… It’s like going to sleep each night. I don’t like that either. But there’s a calmness and a catching up that goes on during Autumn that I can certainly appreciate. And playoffs. I can almost always appreciate playoffs!
Ok, so what’d I do this summer?
Barry Bonds broke Hank Aaron’s record on my birthday! WooT. Controversy aside, it marks an historic baseball event and I live for that stuff.
I made a trip to Boston and New Hampshire to Lake Winnepesaukee to hang with my most special internet buds.
I accidentally found an old friend from over 15 years ago. Found out she lives in the same town I do. We met for lunch and it was like I’d just seen her yesterday. We laughed for hours just like old times! We’ll definitely be doing more of that.
The most amazing crop of apples, concord grapes, and plums forced me to learn how to bake pies. And make jam. Me. I made jam. It’s a miracle!
My sister came to stay with me over the summer. She and my teenage niece. I couldn’t imagine it at first. Then it felt normal. Then they left. Now I can’t imagine that. In about a month, that will feel normal too. Weird. < — that’s what she kept saying, and now I am. Haha!
And, as always, I spent a few days here and there at the beach.
And now I’m back. Here in my office, enjoying the fruits of my labor in the garden just outside. And pondering my winter vegetable crop. And setting up my new computer. *pets my new 24″ widescreen monitor*
Yeah, I think I can get into Autumn.
