See the blog at A Place To Bark for an update re: the donation prizes and for Bernie’s thanks for everyone’s generosity and hard work!!
We raised over $42,000 dollars. And on top of that, the Zoline Foundation is matching the first 35k dollar-for-dollar, which makes the total over $77,000 raised.
A Place to Bark may not have won the $50k grant — they came in fifth — but they are winners still! Thanks to all of YOU!
Ok, this is getting nerve-wracking!! A Place to Bark is currently in the top four badges. But the race is on!!
As a thank you to the donors, a group of Bernie’s artist friends have donated their artwork as gifts to those who donate $10 to A Place to Bark. Click here to see a listing all of the artists who have generously donated thank you gifts. The winners of these gifts will be chosen at random after Jan. 31st.
To enter the drawing for one of these cool gifts, donate just $10 to A Place To Bark. Click the donate button on this badge — Your donation made through Network For Good enters you in the drawing.
Click here to keep track of the top 10 charities on the sixdegrees.org site. Remember, the charity with the most individual, unique donations wins. That’s the number of unique donors, not how many times they donate, nor how much money they donate. Just $10 by every person.
And watch this cute montage made by Claudine Hellmuth of some of the many dogs and cats saved by Bernie and A Place To Bark!
My heartfelt thanks to everyone for all your support!!

Thank you so much to the many of you who have donated already and sent me notes in other places to help spread the word. Wow, the progress so far is beyond amazing!!
I know we can win this for A Place To Bark. If you haven’t had the time to check out the challenge, or to donate to the badge, please do. We’re only two weeks away from the deadline. Remember it’s all about the number of PEOPLE who donate, not the number of times or amount. $10 is all you need to donate to keep A Place To Bark in the running for the $50,000 grant.
Your single $10 donation can make a huge difference!! Plus you get a chance to win some cool artwork. Check out Bernie’s blog, here to see what she and her artist friends are contributing as an incentive to participate! Everyone who donates will be entered into a drawing to win a piece of their art.
See my blog post below for details, or click the Donate button on this badge to help out.
A Place to Bark is currently in the top three badges! With two weeks to go, anything can happen, so please send this to everyone you think might be interested in helping.
Six Degrees.org has partnered with the Case Foundation to invite you to take part in America’s Giving Challenge sponsored by Parade.
It’s your chance to get $50,000 for your favorite charity.
This is an opportunity to help someone I’ve been admiring for awhile for the work she does rescuing pets and giving them another chance at life — a chance to help Bernie Berlin at A Place to Bark build a much needed new shelter!
A Place to Bark last year saved over 500 dogs and cats and placed them in new homes. The woman who runs this shelter does incredible, amazing work rescuing animals from high kill shelters in the south, rehabilitating them, and finding them new homes. She is most definitely one of my heroes!
How It Works: The four charity badges with the most unique donations will get $50,000 through America’s Giving Challenge for their cause. The challenge runs until January 31st.
If you are able, please donate $10 by using the badge below and get your friends to do the same. The goal is to get as many unique donations as possible by using the badge. Your donations are, of course, tax deductible. A Place to Bark is currently in the top eight badges!
In addition to the Parade Giving Challenge opportunity, all donations made to A Place to Bark’s Six Degrees Badge, will also be matched by the “Zoline Foundation” up to $25,000.00!! All donations up to June 1st will be counted for the matching donation from the Zoline Foundation.
