I moved to this house seven eight years ago when it was just an acre of dust and an entirely character-free 70+ year old house! The realtor thought I was nuts. *I* thought I was nuts. But from the first night sleeping on the floor with 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a tank of fish after a long drive “over the hill” together, I felt completely at home.

I could have bulldozed the house, and installed some typical landscaping, but that’s not the way I wanted to go. I prefer to roll up my sleeves and get dirty.

This blog chronicles the changes, and celebrates the successes (and failures) in my Zone 9, west coast garden.
